About

Randy Hesse
Product Architect · Denver, CO
AI Product Architect with 18+ years in enterprise software, including 4+ years focused on AI and GenAI product development. I work at the seam between ambiguous business needs and scalable technical architecture — automation, business process transformation, and regulated industries like healthcare, aerospace and defense, automotive, and retail.
Most of that work has been 0-to-1: leading discovery, building working prototypes, and writing the requirements that turn a hunch into a product. At Keysight I built the Eggplant Generator from the ground up, defined an AI product vision and DevOps-to-AIOps roadmap, and briefed Forrester and Gartner analysts on where the suite was headed. Earlier, I owned delivery on a $6.3M enterprise contract and spent years translating automation for the people who had to live with it.
The pattern underneath all of it: the hard part is rarely the model. It's understanding how people think, decide, and resist — which is exactly what this site is about.

- Acted as the key liaison between AI technology and non-technical stakeholders, simplifying automation concepts to guide customers, executives, and sales teams through the transition from manual processes to AI-driven operations.
- Led AI product discovery and prototyping for the Eggplant suite by defining requirements, demonstrating feasibility through working proofs-of-concept, and coordinating handoff to engineering teams for production implementation.
- Defined product requirements and developed internal prototypes for a QA toolchain using MCP-based LLMs and OmniParser for computer vision, improving engineering testing accuracy by 20%.
- Collaborated with product managers to evaluate features based on stakeholder feedback, keeping the roadmap focused on viable, high-impact capabilities rather than scope creep.
- Translated ambiguous business needs into structured product requirements for AI-driven automation features, including automated test case generation, reducing engineering ambiguity and accelerating delivery cycles.
- Defined and advocated for AI features across the Eggplant product suite, working with PMs and engineering leads to scope, prioritize, and deliver AI-assisted workflows that increased user engagement.
- Authored functional and technical requirements for AI-driven automation solutions targeting the software testing market, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with product strategy.
